At 15 I began volunteering as a math tutor, and received training under Culver City’s Director of Education. Six months later, I was hired as a Mathnasium Instructor. I found it gratifying to share my intuitive approach to math and soon decided to start my own business, WestwoodTutors.com, where I focus on private tutoring.

I was in fourth grade when Common Core arrived, making me one of the first tutors who has personally experienced what today’s students encounter. I leverage this to guide students on an efficient learning path inspired by my own academic journey. I also focus on open-ended questions and communication to understand how students think and personalize lessons to fit their baseline.

Because I’ve been tutoring others since childhood, I’ve developed an exceptional ability to figure out exactly how my students think so that I can reframe concepts to be understandable from their point of view. I then work to develop their reasoning skills and show them new ways of approaching problems. My end goal is for your student to swim on their own, whether I’m still a coach on the sideline or not.
